Atopia (a‧to‧pia) Consulting was founded and is run by Ari Gordon, junior at Columbia University. Frustrated with orthodox approaches to college admissions, I leveraged my own experiences and the results of my students to create a distinct method of tackling the life-defining application. With an emphasis on authenticity and craft, I push students to embrace their fundamental uniqueness (their atopía) in order to both achieve their desired results and identify universities that match their social and academic needs. I offer counseling at all stages of the process: from selecting a rough list of colleges, to editing the personal statement, to crafting supplemental essays, to writing letters of continued interest. Successful students have gone on to be accepted by Princeton University, University of Chicago, Columbia University, Amherst College, and many other prestigious institutions.
